WHO WE ARE

A Warm and Inviting Place
So happy you could stop by the site to see what we’re all about here at South Elgin Community UMC.
You’ll find the church warm and inviting, a place where the presence of God peacefully resides.
There’s room enough here for you to come and share your story and at the same time we will become a part of one another’s stories. We will love you, respect you, and honor the God in you as we work toward healing and wholeness both personally and communally. We will see, hear, and accept you for you are.
We’re a growing church. Having ebbed and flowed over the years, we’re on an upward trend. If you’re looking for a place to share your gifts and graces, come on in. If you just want to refresh, renew, and replenish, come.
A little bit about me: I hold a Master of Divinity and Master of Spiritual Formation from Garrett- Evangelical Theological Seminary. In the spring of 2022, I hope to graduate with a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Direction.
In addition to being pastor here, I also work as a registrar at one of Chicago’s finest seminaries and am on the Elder’s track in the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church. I consider my dual call to serve both the church and academy an honor and a blessing.
Here at South Elgin Community, our aim is to be what God intended God’s church to be: open to all, bringing hope and restoration to all, in the name of the one who loves us all: Jesus.
Please send me a note with your questions or thoughts, or call (847) 931-0563.
